Once again, Etna Pedestrian Alliance (EtPeds) founder and organizer, Tom Hill Jr, has responded to the cancelation of the Pittsburgh Marathon in a novel way. Last year, he ran a traditional marathon - 26.2 miles - all in the Borough of Etna. As if that wasn't impressive enough, Tom completed the marathon wearing a Captain America costume and single-handedly raised more than $1,000 for the Bread of Life Food Pantry in the middle of the pandemic.
This year, Tom has decided to run an ULTRA MARATHON - and will be running 50 miles on the streets of Etna. We're not sure how that is even humanly possible - but it does serve a deeper purpose: to raise money for the Bread of Life Food Pantry. To support Tom's effort, he's asking people to see his Facebook event page, select 'Interested' or 'Going', and he'll make a donation on your behalf. Tom is taking off on Saturday, May 1st, 6 AM, so be sure to show him your support in any way you can!
